Cartographer

Since the last patch, Metamap hasn't been working for me. At least, not all of the features still work. I think it is a great WoW maps addon, but the random error messages just got to be too annoying for me. Because of that, I switched to Cartographer.

Cartographer is obviously another WoW maps addon and it features a lot of the same functionality as Metamap. Cartographer adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map and to the cursor, which is very useful if you're using a site like Thottbot for help. It also removes the "fog of war" from the map, so you can view the whole map, not just the areas you've explored.

If you're a gatherer, Cartographer even automatically tracks herbs and minerals for you. You can also change the look of the map by changing the transparency, the position of the map and even its scale if you want.

Cartographer also shows maps of battlegrounds, even when you're outside the battleground. If you want instance maps, Cartographer has those, too. In fact, it even has boss notes and other notes about the instance on the map. If you want, you can even add your own notes to any map you want, which is really useful.

Possibly the most useful feature, and one of my favorites, of Cartographer is that it offers zone information. Just by hovering your cursor over a zone, it will show you the level range of the zone, which instances are in the zone along with their levels, and how many players that instance is made for. That's just awesome in my opinion.

Cartographer is a great addon, but to really get the most out of World of Warcraft, you'll want to get a top notch WoW leveling guide. I've looked at several and like the Ultimate World of Warcraft guide the best. It has 1-70 leveling guides for both Horde and Alliance, an amazing gold making guide, class strategies and more. It also comes with some cool WoW maps, which are really useful if you're using Cartographer, too. The thing I like best about this guide is that it is constantly updated, so it will never go out of date and I'll never have to buy another guide again. And to make a good deal even better, there's a money back guarantee! Try out the Ultimate World of Warcraft guide at no risk!

MetaMap - Amazing WoW Maps Addon

Last time I talked about some cool add ons that change the way you use WoW maps, and I don't want to repeat myself, but I found a really awesome addon you'll want to try out.

It is called MetaMap and it will change just about anything you could want to change in the World of Warcraft maps system. Just for starters, you can adjust the map window size, move the map around anywhere on the screen and adjust the opacity of the map and its window.

Here's a full list of its other features:

Saved sets for toggling between 2 map modes.
Allows full player movement, messaging, etc. with map open.
Adds coords to the main map and the Minimap
Adds Instance maps which open to the correct instance you enter.
Default data included for all bosses & locations etc.
User editable notes for all maps, including instance maps.
NPC/Mob database collectable by mouseover or keypress.
Toggling on/off display of unexplored areas of the map.
Boss Loot Tables displays all the loot dropped by bosses, and more.
Waypoint system to guide you to any set point.
Complete Quest logger with optional history database.
NoteBook module for additional notes, linked to Tooltips.
Inbuilt Import and export facilities for various data formats.
Inbuilt Backup and Restore facilities.
Button on Minimap to open or close the World Map or display MetaMap options.
Key bindings for various MetaMap functions.
Full support for Titan Bar.

I really love the Titan Bar support, since that's one of my favorite mods. I also get a lot of use out of the coordinates on the mini-map. That's a huge help when I'm trying to find a particular NPC and I've only got his location.

If you're like me, you're interested in anything to make your time playing WoW more fun. Things like these addons for WoW maps certainly help. I also have been using the Ultimate World of Warcraft guide. It was a huge help when I switched from Alliance to Horde and I found its 1-70 leveling guides for both factions immensely helpful. I also made frequent use of its money making guide to buy my mount and all my training and equipment. On top of that, it has excellent class guides and tons of detailed maps and quest info. The thing I like best about it is that it is always updated, so I never have to buy another guide again because this one went out of date. Let's see a Prima guide try that for no additional charge. What you'll like is that there's a money back guarantee, so if you try it out and don't like it (I'm not sure that's even possible) they'll refund your money. There's no reason not to give it a shot today!

WoW Maps - Great World of Warcraft Map Tools

In WoW, maps are incredibly useful. The most useful time for a map, though is when you're in an instance. The problem is that Blizzard didn't include highly detailed maps for these cases, like they did with the main part of the game.

The solution, thankfully, is a simple one. Just download the World of Warcraft addon, Atlas. Atlas works with the in-game maps to provide better, more detailed maps for battlegrounds, dungeon locations, flight points, and outdoor raid bosses. The absolute best part, though, is that it also comes with fantastic maps for every instance in the game!

I'm also a big fan of the FlightMap addon. Even though Atlas does show flight points, FlightMap is still useful. It shows the whole path, as well as showing how much it costs to fly from point to point. If that weren't enough, FlightMap also has a progress bar (like if you were casting a spell) to show you how much longer the flight will take. That's worth the download all by itself!

If you're still wanting some more WoW maps and WoW addons, then check out Gatherer. It suppliments the minimap with resource nodes. Basically, it remembers every place that you've encountered a resource node and then keeps it on the map. This is very handy for gathering because I don't have to remember where all the nodes are, I can just check my map. Of course, it will still show the node, even if it is currently depleted, so you can't rely soley on Gatherer.

The last WoW addon I'll talk about today is called AtlasQuest. It is a plugin for Atlas, which we talked about earlier. It basically shows you quest and story information for the instance that you're in. It may not be the most necessary of addons, but it is fun and has some nice functionality.

Go ahead and try these addons for Wow maps out. But if you're still wanting something more, check out the Ultimate World of Warcraft guide. It has tons of maps in it, plus a 1-70 level guide for both Horde and Alliance, a gold making guide, and lots of quest info. Plus, it is constantly updated, so you'll never have out of date information. Best of all is that it comes with a money back guarantee, so you've got no reason not to check it out!
